At ESR the key word is freedom—freedom to choose, colors, textures, shapes and materials.Colors are made to the specifications of the clients by applying pre-metalized, colorfast dyes. The final result is rich, deep color that complements diverse lines and shapes. The colors can also be tweeded. Texture is expressed through a choice of cut pile, loop or a combination. Carving and tip-sharing may be added for shading and special effects. The shape of the rugs is completely determined by the customer, including odd shapes or precise dimensions. Whether it is ESR’s carefully specified, 100 % fine New Zealand wool, silk , naturals fibers, Color Core yarn or any other types of material, ESR can transform it into the most exquisite rug.

ESR rugs are created by a hand tufting process, starting with the transfer of the design onto a Cotton backing. The backing is treated with odor-free applications which add the following properties: flame retarding, mildew resistance, antibacterial and anti-static finishes. The pattern for the design is filled with the selected material (most often premium flat wool imported from New Zealand, unless otherwise specified). The yarn is applied using a single –needle applicator, and skid-resistance.

Shearing, combing, trimming, carving, beveling, re-shearing, and vacuming are all meticulously done by hand to fully define the ultimate textures specified for each rug. While the standard rug thickness is about half an inch thick, the pile can be made shorter as well as longer (shag).
